The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. Meeker Dispatch Center administered 526 phone calls last week including 34 911 calls, 65 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 160 outgoing calls. A total of 171 calls for service were created, 79 for the Sheriff’s Office, 75 for MPD and three assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 19 traffic stops, issued three citations and arrested two. MPD had 16 stops issuing 15 warnings. Highway 13 had six traffic stops issuing four citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 14 agency assists, three 911 hang ups, 10 animal calls, three attempts to serve civil papers, two citizen assists, four motorist assists, five suspicious incidents, two traffic arrests, three traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: business check, DUI, property, ranch check, trespass and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included three agency assists, four 911 hangup, 12 animal calls, 17 business checks, six citizen assists, two motorist assists, five suspicious incidents, two thefts, one traffic arrest, two VIN inspections and one each: alarm, civil, DUI, juvenile problem, traffic crash.
There were nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including four ambulance requests, three medical transfers and two motor vehicle crashes.
There were seven assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in eight, five by the Sheriff’s Office, one by MPD and two from RPD. Nine inmates were released. Deputies conducted seven transports to or from another facility and currently there are 12 inmates in the facility.
There was one DUI arrest by MPD and three traffic crashes were reported in the county, two with injuries.
