The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 454 phone calls last week including 25 911 calls, 61 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 120 outgoing calls. A total of 209 calls for service were created, 123 for the Sheriff’s Office, 78 for MPD and 13 assists with Rangely Police Department. (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 35 traffic stops, issued three citations. MPD had 10 stops issuing three citations. Highway 13 had 18 traffic stops issuing three citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 13 agency assists, one 911 hang up, three animal calls, two attended deaths, two citizen assists, two disturbances, two BLM wildland fires, five motorist assists, three ranch checks, three suspicious incidents, five traffic complaints, two traffic hazards, four VIN inspections and one each: domestic violence, funeral escort, illegal dumping, property, traffic accident, trespass and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included six agency assists, one alarm, eight animal calls, 13 business checks, two citizen assists, two civil, three disturbances, three motorist assists, two parking violations, five suspicious incidents, four traffic complaints, six VIN inspections and one each: domestic violence, fraud, funeral escort, harassment, property, traffic accident and warrant arrest.
There were five calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including four ambulance requests, one medical transfer.
There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in six, one by the Sheriff’s Office, two by MPD and RPD, one from Colorado State Patrol. Four inmates were released. Deputies conducted two transports to or from another facility and currently there are 14 inmates in the facility.
One DUI arrest by CSP and five traffic crashes were reported in the county, one involving car/deer.
