The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 392 phone calls this last week, receiving 29 911 calls, answered 61 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 80 outgoing phone calls. A total of 146 calls for service were created, 67 for the Sheriff’s Office, 87 for MPD and eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were five automobile crashes, two involving a deer and one motorcycle crash.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 12 traffic stops issuing two citations and MPD had 26 stops issuing five citations. Highway 13 south had four traffic stops issuing one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 17 agency assists, two 911 misdials, seven animal calls, three citizen assists, three disturbances, three suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, two warrant arrests and one each: alarm, civil papers served, civil call, juvenile problem, traffic accident and unattended death.
Meeker Police Department calls included five agency assists, two 911 hangups, four animal calls, 11 business checks, five citizen assists, four disturbances, two juvenile problems, six parking violations, two property reports, six suspicious incidents, three thefts, two traffic complaints and one each: alarm, assault, civil, code enforcement, motorist assist, traffic accident and VIN inspection.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two alarms, two ambulance requests, one wildland fire, one transport, one vehicle crash and one unattended death.
There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in eight and released seven. The Sheriff’s Office arrested five individuals and Rangely PD with three. The jail is currently housing 16 inmates. There were eight inmate transports to or from another facility and one jail incident.
There were no DUI arrests.
