The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 675 phone calls last week including 27 911 calls, 73 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 245 outgoing calls. A total of 174 calls for service were created, 78 for the Sheriff’s Office, 76 for MPD and two assists with Rangely Police Department. (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 16 traffic stops and issued three citations. MPD had eight stops, all warnings. There were three stops on Highway 13 all were issued warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 12 agency assists, five 911 hang ups, seven animal calls, two attended deaths, five civil papers served, six citizen assists, two motorist assists, five suspicious incidents, four traffic complaints, four VIN inspections, three wildland fires and one each: back country rescue, business check, hazmat incident, traffic hazard and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included 11 agency assists, two 911 hangups, 14 animal calls, 19 business checks, nine suspicious incidents, two traffic crashes, two traffic complaints, two vin inspections and one each: citizen assist, fraud, funeral escort, parking violation, property, theft.
There were seven calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue with one wildland fire, back country rescue and five ambulance requests.
There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in four, two by the Sheriff’s Office, one from RPD and one from CSP. Three inmates were released. There are currently eight inmates in the facility. There were two transports to or from other facilities.
Two vehicle crashes were reported in the county.
There was one DUI arrest by the Colorado State Patrol.
