The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 431 phone calls last week including 29 911 calls, 49 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 136 outgoing calls. A total of 139 calls for service were created, 55 for the Sheriff’s Office, 62 for MPD and two assists with Rangely Police Department. (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 10 traffic stops all warnings. MPD had eight stops, all warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 12 agency assists, one 911 hang up, six animal calls, six civil papers served, four citizen assists, four suspicious incidents, two thefts, and one each: attended death, K-9 deployment, traffic complaint, traffic hazard, trespass and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included five agency assists, one 911 hangup, five animal calls, 14 business checks, seven suspicious incidents, 11 VIN inspections and one each: citizen assist, civil, gas skip, juvenile problem, missing person, motorist assist, parking violation and traffic complaint.
There were six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue with two medical transfers, three ambulance requests and one smoke alarm report.
There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in five, two by the Sheriff’s Office. Three inmates were released. There are currently 11 inmates in the facility. There were four transports to or from other facilities. Three vehicle crashes were reported in the county, all involving deer or elk.
There were no DUI arrests.
