Westernaires to perform at Meeker’s Mustang Makeover event Aug. 23

Special to the HT

MEEKER | Colorado’s iconic youth equestrian nonprofit organization, the Westernaires, will bring their thrilling blend of precision and Western spirit to this year’s Mustang Makeover in Meeker, Colorado, at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds.

The Westernaires Precisionettes team, along with select specialty performers, will take the arena from 2-3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, for a one-of-a-kind display of high-speed precision horseback drill riding, liberty acts, and specialty riding—performed entirely by young skilled riders.

The Mustang Makeover is Meeker’s premier horse training and adoption event, featuring mustang demonstrations, training showcases, and an evening mustang auction open to the public. Westernaires’ appearance adds a dynamic and crowd-pleasing highlight to a day already packed with equine excellence.

“It’s an honor for our riders to be a part of an event that celebrates the heritage, skill, and future of the American Mustang,” said Rhoda Schleicher of the Westernaires. “Our talented young members work tirelessly to preserve Western traditions, and the Mustang Makeover shares that mission.”
