RBC | Join the White River Alliance March 15 at 6 p.m. for a presentation by Dr. Nathan Perry from Mesa State University. Perry is a professor of economics and will give a presentation on population, economics, employment and other trends we might expect to see in Rio Blanco County. He makes number crunching understandable and interesting and is coming back from a well-received presentation in 2021. Perry will kick off a series of presentations the White River Alliance alliance will be hosting for 2023 from experts in their field who can better help us understand where we’re headed and how we can continue to promote a healthy White River and resources in our valley. The White River Alliance will be hosting more great presentations throughout the year. Our goal is to share information and help educate stakeholders and interested people that want to promote healthy resources and the White River.
On other fronts the White River Alliance is excited to be giving out scholarships again this year at the Rangely and Meeker High Schools for graduating students showing active interest and leadership in the healthy resources and the White River.
Later this summer we will be hosting a workshop for riparian restoration. If you own land or know of land with a seasonal stream that has been highly eroded or disappeared you might want to check it out. Along with the Nature Conservancy and River’s Edge West, the White River Alliance will be hosting an educational two-day workshop promoting riparian restoration, making for better range for grazing and wildlife, better habitat and hydrology.
Our presentations and gatherings are in person and always available on Zoom for anybody interested. So please join us and learn more about our valley and the White River. Our next meeting is March 15 at 6 p.m. at the meeting room at Chippers. Visit us at WhiteRiverAlliance.Net
