YEA Meeker promoting young entrepreneurs

Meeker’s young entrepreneurs will be at Home.Made on Main Street Sept. 29.

MEEKER |  Young Entrepreneurs are Awesome! Meeker (YEA Meeker) puts the “all” in small business. Through this program, youth ranging from grades 3-12 gain support in their own personal entrepreneurship ventures. You may have seen many of these young entrepreneurs at various events such as the Meeker Farmer’s Markets, the 4-H Fair, Mustang Makeovers, Jammin’ Lamb, and the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials.

YEA Meeker will host their next event outside of Home.Made (590 Main St.) on Sept. 29 for a pop-up sale with selling food, drinks, self-made jewelry and crafts, treats for dogs, and even marshmallow launchers.

As of press time, there are 11 participants, ranging from 4th-7th grade. The participants take part in a point system where they earn points by attending meetings, bringing a friend, and engaging in other events that YEA Meeker puts on. Participants can put these points towards gaining assistance in setting up Facebook pages, websites, and other helpful marketing tools to help advertise their business.

YEA Meeker holds meetings that are open to the public on the second Friday of every month in Mountain Valley Bank’s conference room from 1-2 p.m. They also have a Facebook page found at https://www.facebook.com/YEAMeeker. YEA Meeker is ready to provide services to help local youth ready to try their hand at entrepreneurship.
