Young readers…

phMKElementarySchoolReadersSMeeker Elementary School second-graders read the book “Flat Stanley” by Jeff Brown, who tells a story about a boy who becomes a half-inch thick after being flattened by a bulletin board. Stanley had many adventures, including mailing himself in an envelope to a friend. After reading the story, the MES second graders made their own Flat Travelers and sent them to friends and family to learn about geography, history and culture all over the United States and the world. Above are the Flat Travelers that have been returned from Borneo (Indonesia), Japan, Greece, Brazil, Thailand, Australia and 17 of the contiguous United States.
