Two Meeker youth archers, Dawn Arnold (left) and Auri Murray (right) recently competed at the annual Big Sky Archery Challenge held in Craig, Colorado. This tournament has a reputation for big cash prize payouts attracting top archers from all over the country. Arnold shot well on day one, then improved her score on day two with a first place finish in her class. Murray shot up a couple classes with the adult women, on day one she hung in there with the best of them, even taking a first place finish at the Friday evening “go for it” shoot and a second place finish at the Saturday “shoot down” shoot— whipping up on most of the men, too. On the second day she hung in there catching the No. 5 spot, just out of the money. These young ladies shot their pin set ups against scoped equipment out to 65 yards, both coming home with a little cash in their pocket.
