Dale taught music at Meeker High School for 18 years, teaching band, choir and extra-curricular jazz band, dixieland band and dance band. He loved the high school students. After retiring in 1976, he had Jens Construction, designing and building homes, etc. Pat worked with the U.S. Forest Service, Blanco District, retiring in 1991. They raised their four children in Meeker, with daughter Diana Caldwell and her husband, Leonard, still living here. Their other three children live in Grand Junction and Fruita.
