RANGELY | Both CNCC men’s and women’s basketball teams were in full stride last weekend as they traveled to Northeastern Junior College.
After defending their home court less than a week a week ago the lady Spartans fell to NJC 52-68.
“The girls played well and battled the entire game. We struggled shooting the ball from the perimeter,” said head coach Kyle Entringer.
The lady Spartans were able to bounce back less than 16 minutes later, defeating Lamar Community College 61-47. Coach Entringer said that the ladies played well and that this was a “great team win.” Shelby Harvey led the way for the Spartans in both points and rebounds for the weekend. The lady Spartans are 2-3 on the season and will be traveling to Eugene, Ore., this week.
Our Spartan men fell to NJC this weekend 74-81, however, the men statistically did better. They shot 50.9 percent from FG range (up from 33.3 percent the first time they played NJC). The men will play at Western Wyoming tomorrow and will travel to Casper, Wyo., this weekend.
