Colorful Characters…

The Rio Blanco County Historical Society presented a history lesson and a couple of skits on Sunday afternoon, titled “Colorful Characters to RBC,” focusing on six well-known personalities who add to the history of our county: Calamity Jane, Eleanor Roosevelt, author Zane Grey, Theodore Roosevelt, Chief Colorow and local native-turned-actor Ken Sanderson, who went on to Hollywood and became Buddy Roosevelt, before returning to Meeker in 1968 and dying in 1973. Meeker’s Gail Rogers portrays Eleanor Roosevelt in a skit.
