RBC I The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday morning that a 55-year-old woman was found deceased in her cell on Monday from a suspected suicide.
The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday in her cell.
Undersheriff Brice Glasscock reported that detention center deputies and medical staff performed cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in an effort to revive the inmate.
The inmate had been booked into the Rio Blanco County Detention Center on Friday Feb. 12 on a charge of violation of a protection order. No further identifying information will be forthcoming.
Glasscock reported that the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Rio Blanco Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the incident.
