Fifth and final Bob Tucker

The fifth and final Bob Tucker Memorial Golf tournament was played last Saturday at the Meeker Golf Course and four of the past scholarship winners returned to Meeker, organized teams and played in the final tournament to raise funds to sustain a scholarship.
According to Jo Tucker, wife of the late Meeker student/athlete/teacher/coach, because of the generosity of so many, the scholarship will continue for years to come.
Irv Griffin, Donald Blazon, Rod and Ron Kelly Crawford beat the competition in the field of 13 teams by four shots in the four-person scramble tournament.
“We came in 13 under par,” Griffin said.
Griffin’s team scrambled to shoot 55, leaving a tie for second between Bryce Ducey, Lex Collins, Robbie Elam and Deloy Cook; and Matt Fellows, Dave Brown, Larin Crase and Harry Watt, who just returned from his winter home in Mexico.
Ducey’s team won the one-hole playoff for the second place prizes.
There was also a tie for best net score, which involved two past scholarship winners: Dale Dunbar and his son Kurtis, a past scholarship winner, teamed up with Andy Coryell and Jay Abshire to shoot a net 46 and tie with past Bob Tucker scholarship winner Clinton Kilduff, who led his team, consisting of Darby Finley, Mindy Burke and Trey Morris to the tie.
Crase won the longest drive contest on No. 3 and Addie Joy was the closest to the pin on No. 7.
