MEEKER I Kacey Pozorski and her parents are in Minnesota, where 4-year-old Kacey is undergoing treatment for a rare brain tumor.
But Kacey and her parents are in the thoughts and prayers of family and friends back home in Meeker. They will have a fundraiser Friday night for the Pozorskis. The event will be at the exhibit hall at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds.
“She accepted the first treatment very well,” said Tim Nelson, Kacey’s grandfather. “The second treatment started Nov. 8. There will be five days of treatments, then off five days. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to make it (to the fundraiser). Kacey will have an MRI on the 22nd to see if the tumor is shrinking. If it is, they will continue with the treatments. If not, they will do something else.
“They are missing Meeker, and we miss her and Kurt and Jackie (Kacey’s parents) a lot,” Nelson said. “But there are a lot of people who have really donated some really cool stuff (for the fundraiser). We want it to be a family event.”
