MEEKER | The Meeker Girl Scouting program is in search of volunteers. “We would love to be able to grow Girl Scouting in Meeker but need the community’s help in doing so. Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character that make the world a better place. Not only is Girl Scouts good for girls, it’s good for the community,” writes Hilary McGilton. Meeting times, days and locations are up to the leader so it can fit in anyone’s schedule. Meetings tend to be about an hour with about an hour of planning each week. Webinars and staff assistance available make it unnecessary to have any type of Girl Scout background. Leaders can be male or female. Leaders do not need a daughter to lead: young adults, grandparents or parents who only have boys can still volunteer as well. Leaders do not need any prior Girl Scout knowledge, training and mentorship is provided Anyone with questions can contact McGilton at 970-628-8007 or hilary.mcgilton @gscolorado.org.
