RBC I Members of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society elected board members and officers for the coming terms at their quarterly meeting Jan. 8.
Steve Wix, who has served as president for the last seven years, stepped down. He will remain active with the society and help with the ongoing Milk Creek Battlefield Park (Thornburg) project.
The officers and board members of the RBC Historical Society are Ellene Meece, president; Gayle Rogers, vice president; Trudi Burri, treasurer; Sue Hicken, secretary.
Because the structure of the board is to have “rolling” term expiration dates, only two new board members are elected each year. This year, new members are Patty Anderson and Tony Weiss. Board members who are already serving till 2013 and 2014 are Joe Sullivan and Dave Steinman, and Sparky Pappas.
Membership dues need to be paid. Prices are $10 for seniors; $20 for individuals; $30 family memberships; and $50 for businesses. The museum is open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the winter months.
