MEEKER | Joseph and Laura Cardile of Meeker are this week’s “home of” honorees. Laura’s parents Art and Lila Cox moved to Meeker when she was a child. Laura attended kindergarten through high school in Meeker. Joseph and Laura met as students at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood. They lived in Meeker from 1997 through 2004. The Cardiles returned to Meeker at the end of June for Joseph to be the pastor of New Creation Church.Joseph is the pastor at New Creation Church and works part-time at Watt’s Ranch Market. Laura is a stay-at-home mom and is looking for a part-time job.The Cardiles have five children attending Meeker schools: daughter Emily, 15, is a sophomore; son Dominick, 12, is a seventh-grader; daughter Mikayla, 10, is in the fifth grade; son Jonathan, 6, is a first-grader; and son Gabriel, 4, is in preschool.The Cardile family enjoys fishing, hiking, bicycling and reading. Joseph is an avid sports fan. He likes all sports and has been a sports broadcaster for 22 years. “He’s done broadcasts at the stadium for schools, colleges, division I and II, high schools and even junior college,” Laura said. Laura teaches piano and enjoys interior design and gardening.“We love the community. Everyone knows each other. We like the small town. We can walk everywhere. We love the family feel of the town. We love being closer to family, back in the mountains and the cooler summers. We’re excited to be pastoring again,” Laura added.
