The Meeker Shinpu-Ren Karate group, an ERBM Recreation and Park District program, competed at the Delta Karate Tournament on Oct. 22. All participants competed in Kumite (sparring) and Kata (forms). Norah Loar was third in Kumite and second in Kata in the 5-7 year old division. In the 8-11 intermediate division Jacob Roberts was second in Kumite and 4th in Kata. Damon Dade was fourth in Kumite in the 12-14 division. In the 18 & over division, Sarah MacDonald was first in Kumite and second in Kata. Stephanie Eckes placed second in the Kumite and third in Kata.
