If no news is good news, then the first week of 2010 must be going fairly well. Either that or everyone is too tired after the holidays to do much of anything. Even January’s special observances are on the quiet side. January is National Soup Month, National Staying Healthy Month (you can be sick the other 11 months), Oatmeal Month and Hot Tea Month. Friday is one of Harold’s all time favorite weird holidays: “Peculiar People Day.” Saturday, Jan. 11 commemorates the first time milk was delivered in glass bottles. Before that, we assume, it was delivered in the cow.
Celebrating birthdays this week, Elvis Presley. That’s if you are into conspiracy theories. The “King” was born Jan. 8, 1935.
Living locals enjoying birthdays this week include Caleigh Morlan, who turns 8 on Friday, Jan. 10. Happy birthday, Caleigh!
More birthday greetings to Richard Bland, Marti Walsh, Dick Merriam, Stephanie Oldland and Autumn Lawson, Jan. 7; Pam Cook, Marcus Kindall, and Morgan Neilson, Jan. 8; Beth Hollowed, Mac McFarland, and on Jan. 10; Connor Blunt and Katie Day, Jan. 11; Earl Shrode and Cameron Glasscock, Jan. 12; JD Merriam, Chip Brown, Jan. 13.
