Meeker Locals: December 25

Merry Christmas, everyone! Winter is officially here, as of last Sunday, Dec. 21, in case the below-zero temperatures didn’t clue us in. It was also the shortest day of the year, so for those experiencing light deprivation, it only gets better from here on out!
Are you expecting a baby in the next week or two? We’d like to find Meeker’s first baby of 2009. If you are a Meeker resident, let us know when you deliver your new little one. The standing joke in small towns is that the first baby of the new year may not be born until sometime in March or April.
Yet another reason to be thankful we live in Meeker: A gas station awning in Arizona collapsed under the weight of accumulated pigeon droppings.
