Meeker Locals: January 8

Is anyone else ready for the customary January thaw? Well, probably not, since it hasn’t gotten really cold yet. Always something to look forward to. Our average minimum daily temperature in January is 2 degrees Fahreinheit. And we wonder why snow-birding is so popular!
Good old fashioned tuna fish is quite the delicacy in Japan, where two sushi bar owners paid more than $100,000 for a premium blue fin tuna. The fish weighed in at nearly 300 pounds. That’s a lot of cans of tuna!
Great-grandpa Jim Tyler would like to wish a belated welcome to Cody Lane Richardson, son of James and J’Leah Richardson. Cody arrived on Nov. 26, 2008, the day before Thanksgiv-ing. He did make it home for Turkey Day, Jim says.
