Meeker Recreation Center News: May 1, 2008

n Free Family Night Out, sponsored by Meeker Sand and Gravel, will be Sunday, May 4 from 6:30-8 p.m. Free admission to the MRC for the first 75 people.
n Painting Workshop for adults will be May 5-7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $10. Supplies will be provided. Learn drawing tips and techniques which will improve your paintings.
n Free dance recital featuring dance students of preschool through high school ages will be Sunday, May 11, 5 p.m. at the high school auditorium. Great entertainment!
n Meeker Marlins, the new swim team, will begin mid-May. It is open to children ages 8 to 18 who can swim 25 yards using a breast stroke or front crawl stroke. Cost is $30. Register by calling, going online or coming in.
n The pool will be closed during swim lessons from 5:45-7:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays through May 7.
n New sessions of After School Mania are in progress from now until the end of the school year. Register for one, a few or all classes. Monday and Tuesdays are for first- through third-graders, Wednesdays are for PreK-kindergarten, Thursdays are for fourth- through sixth-graders. Cost is $3 per day and include a hands-on activity and healthy snack.
n Fitness classes for all levels in the pool and in the studio are available morning, afternoon and evenings. Details are in the April-Nov. brochure.
n Volleyball camp will be May 30. For boys and girls in kindergarten through fourth-grade and fifth- through eighth-grade. Cost is $10.
n Tiny Toes camp for 2-3 year olds with a parent or caregiver will start June 16. Cost is $10.
