Meeker Recreation News: February 14, 2008

n Totally Tone and Xtreme Kick participants please note there will be no class on Feb. 28 and Feb. 29. Instructors will be out of town for training.
n “Movin’ and Groovin” and “Movin’ in the Water”will be held in the studio Feb. 25 and 27 and then will be held in the water until April 2, Monday and Wednesday, 12:10-12:50 p.m.
n Swim lessons are March 4 – April 3. Registration will begin Feb. 22. Skill level evaluations will be given for all but the Aqua Tots class. Free evaluations will be held Sunday, Feb. 17 after normal pool hours between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Class size is limited. Check the Activities Brochure or call (970) 878-3403 for further details.
n Cooking Class Thursday, Feb. 21 will give you fantastic ideas for dealing with unexpected guests. The class is held at the fairgrounds kitchen, 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per night.
n Parent’s Night Out will be Feb. 14. While parents celebrate Valentineís Day together, children ages 4-12 can visit the MRC without their parents. Children 4-7 will meet in the multipurpose room from 6-7:30 p.m. Kids 8-12 can join the fun in the multipurpose room or use the pool from 6-8:30 p.m. Admission to Parent’s Night Out is $5 which will include supervised games, activities, food and prizes.
n 2008 Winter Games will be Feb. 23. All events are free and everyone is invited to participate and/or watch. Events will include a field hockey tournament (Rec. Dist. will provide all the equipment,) the cardboard derby, free hot lunch, a geo cache adventure, an artisan show and cookie bake-off and aquatic games. All adults who participate will be eligible to enter a drawing for a free 26-inch HDTV. The more games you play, the better your chance to win. n Pilates for beginners and intermediates will be held Feb. 26-April 3 from 12:10-12:50 p.m.
n Closure notice: The MRC Fitness Room and Pool will be open for general use on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 7 a.m. ñ 9:30 a.m. only. The Tot Spot will be open from 8am-9:30 a.m. Scheduled Winter Games activities will be held in the MRC periodically throughout the rest of the day. Join the fun. Participate in the Winter Games.
