MEEKER I Forty-seven seniors at Meeker High School will receive their high school diplomas this weekend, marking the end of the 2012-13 school year.
The Meeker High School annual commencement exercises will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Starbuck Stadium at the high school.
Keynote speaker at the ceremony will be Becca Nielsen, a long-time language arts teacher in Meeker who is now retired.
The class will also be addressed by valedictorian Emily Eliasen, salutatorian Amanda Kindall and class president Anna George.The class motto is “Today you are you, that is truer than true; there is no one on earth who is youer than you,” a quote from Theodore Geisel, also known as Doctor Seuss. The class flower is the white and blue orchid, the class colors are silver and blue and the class song is “Hall of Fame,” by the band The Script featuring Will.i.am.
