RBC — A driver in a GMC pickup pulling a trailer sideswiped a truck in the opposite lane Oct. 28 and kept driving, but no injuries were reported.
Sergeant Patrick Darrow responded to a hit and run accident that occurred at approximately 18200 County Rd. 5 Oct. 28 at 5:19 p.m.
Juan Amaya, 38, of Rifle was driving eastbound in a 2004 Ford truck when a westbound gray GMC pickup pulling a gooseneck trailer drifted into Amaya’s lane of travel.
The driver’s side mirror of the GMC collided with Amaya’s driver’s side mirror and window.
No injuries resulted in the accident; however, the Ford truck incurred moderate damage.
Following the collision, Amaya pulled into a safe area and contacted law enforcement. The GMC truck continued westbound after the collision and has not been located.
