Robert ‘Bob’ Loring Burdick

Robert “Bob” Loring Burdick, 95, of College Station, Texas, passed away Dec. 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert Loring Burdick was born May 3, 1923, in Meeker, Colo. His parents were Elmer and Ruth Loring Burdick. On Dec. 15, 1946, in Post, Texas, he married his wife Mamie Lee Shepherd; they were married 72 years. Loring went to grade school and high school in Meeker, Colo., and graduated in 1942. He attended Colorado State A&M in Fort Collins, Colorado, for one year on a football scholarship. He spent 40 years working in the oil industry, he worked at the Nevada Test Site, he worked offshore and traveled all over the world. He was a Mason and he was baptized in the LDS Church. Loring was a real family man; his wife, his children, and his grandchildren meant everything to him. Loring loved all of his relatives and he kept in touch with many of them. He was a hardworking, intelligent, honest, and caring man.
Loring was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Ann Burdick, his son Dennis Lee Burdick, his parents, his four brothers Elmer Rodney Burdick, Donald Neil Burdick, Vernon Eugene Burdick, and Gordon Keith Burdick.
He is survived by his wife Mamie Shepherd Burdick, daughter Charlotte Elaine Burdick, two sons: Loring Bruce Burdick and Michael Glenn Burdick, seven grandchildren, and his brother Richard Burdick.
Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at the Hillier Funeral Home in College Station. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at the LDS Church on Welsh & Deacon. Graveside services and burial were held Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at the Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas.
