Jane Miller
Feb. 19, 1948 ~ March 10, 2019
Jane Miller, 71, long-time Rangely resident and business owner, passed away March 10, 2019, after a short battle with cancer with her family by her side.
Jane was born in Dickinson, N.D., Feb. 19, 1948, to Edmund and Cecilia Leintz where she was the youngest of seven children. The family made their way to Wisconsin when Jane was young, but she never forgot her time in North Dakota…often sharing her memories with friends and family. It was in Milwaukee where she received her high school diploma, began her professional career and met and married Michael Miller. Mike and Jane welcomed two daughters while living in Milwaukee, Wisc., before moving to North Dakota and eventually to Rangely, Colo., where they still reside. Jane became a small business owner here, endeared herself to the community she grew to love deeply.
Jane was preceeded in death by her parents, Edmund and Cecilia Leintz, sister MaryAnn Kjos (Leintz), brothers Ralph Leintz, Leonard Leintz, Edward Leintz, Peter Leintz and her granddaughter, Makayla Kottenstette. Jane is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael Miller, her daughter Katherine Kottenstette and son-in-law Ian, granddaughter Harper Kottenstette, daughter Angela Miller and brother Frank Leintz. Jane also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, godchildren and friends—all of whom were incredibly special to Jane throughout her life. Jane will always be remembered as an amazing and giving wife and mother, a kind and selfless friend and most of all, a “mom” to everyone who knew her. She was truly special.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring after the lilacs are blooming—Jane loved lilac
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to Jane’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
