Wells, of Everett, Wash., and daughters Mary Lou Adams and Linda Denning, both of Scott City, Kan. Joan also leaves behind five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Robert W. Joan and Robert met in Cimarron, Kan., in 1949, and married two years later. She was a nurse for several years, up until they had their second son. They raised their family in Meeker and have lived here to this day. Joan had a deep love for Jehovah, and the Jehovah’s Witness congregation had been like a second family to her and Robert. Her hobbies were cooking, knitting, crocheting, gardening and she was an excellent homemaker. Her cookies were quite popular with all of her friends. Joan had many friends and loved people. She was a very unselfish woman who was willing to help anyone;she had a huge heart. She also had an amazing love for animals and she had a special ability to connect with them. She will be greatly missed by her own pets, Brandy and Kiko.
Her memorial service was held on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Meeker.
