Michael Don Kochenower

Michael Don Kochenower passed away on March 7, 2018, in Scottsdale, Ariz. He is survived by his four sons: Tyrrell Kochenower of Meeker, Colo., Trevor Kochenower of Grand Junction, Colo., Trenton Kochenower of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Troy Kochenower of Grand Junction, Colo., as well as seven grandchildren. He was born on Aug. 20, 1953, in Denver, Colo., and graduated from Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colo. He served in the Army and then in the Navy Seabees where he mastered his skills of being a heavy equipment operator. His choice of all the heavy equipment was the scraper. He was married for 25 years. Mike, as he was well known, raised his sons in Meeker and then later in Hayden, Colo. He was in law enforcement in Steamboat Springs and in Hayden for several years. He enjoyed being a scout leader for his sons and working with the Lions club. Camping, hunting, golfing, fishing and playing pool were among his favorite past time pleasures. He started the Race -A -Cop program in Hayden and raced three different cars at the Hayden Speedway.
He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
