Willetta M. Shults passed away Oct. 1, 2013, at the Walbridge Wing in Meeker, Colo. Willetta was born on June 13, 1922, in Meeker, Colo., to William and Myrtle Margaret (Peltier) Sykes.
She married Philip Shults on Sept. 19, 1943. They had three children: Ike, Phyllis and Janice.
Willetta belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary Rebecca Lodge for 42 years. She was also a 4-H leader. She was a member of a bowling league and Powell Park Club. Willetta also delivered Meals on Wheels for many years in Meeker. She worked for the Meeker School District for 26 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philip, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: Ike Shults (Claudia), Phyllis Moss (Dean), Janice Vaughn (Dewey) and sister Ada Osborn; grandchildren: Zane Shults; Jim (Jennifer) Shults, Philip and Ryanne; Tracy (Bob) Quait, Joshua, Kaylee, and Skyler; Jeannie (Brice) Ruthardt, Megan, Nathan and Leah; Philip (Sharon) Vaughn, Nicholas and Riley; Cassie (Steve) McElhiney, Teagan, Cara, Kolby; and Travis (Liz), Patrick and Nickolas Moss; and many nephews and nieces.
Willetta’s funeral was held at St. James Episcopal Church in Meeker on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.
