Older Mustang team wins its Super Bowl

MEEKER I The Meeker Mustangs youth football program — formed just three years ago — advanced both teams to the Super Bowl with 6-0 records and ranked No. 1 in their age divisions.
Both Meeker teams played in their respective Super Bowls on Sunday at Aspen, with the fifth- and sixth-grade Mustangs winning, 12-6 over host team Aspen, which was previously undefeated. The older Meeker team finished unbeaten in Division II.
The third- and fourth-grade Mustangs lost to Parachute, 31-6, to take second place in Division I and finish with a 6-1 record. Meeker had defeated Parachute earlier in the season.
