RANGELY | The lady Panthers had mixed results this weekend in two must-win matches against the Plateau Valley Cowboys and the Hotchkiss Bulldogs. Both games were hard fought and in the end they pulled away with a loss in Plateau Valley (1-3) but a win for the last home game of the season against Hotchkiss. Junior varsity went 0-2 in their last weekend but both were close matches and the players all saw vast improvement in their play.
Freshman Chloe Goshe had solid games stepping in for injured Kassidee Brown with three serving aces and 40 assists on the weekend. On the offensive side of the ball Skylar Thacker ended the regular season with six kills between the two matches. Kacie Lapp had five aces against Hotchkiss. Marlena Miller, Hannah Wilkie and Kacie Lapp led the team in kills with 15, 10 and five respectively. Defensively this weekend the lady Panthers were also very strong. Marlena Miller had nine blocks at Plateau Valley and Aspen Low was credited with four during the home match vs. Hotchkiss. Leading the team in digs for the weekend were Skylar Thacker with 31 total, Adelynn Halcomb with 21 total, and Kacie Lapp with 14 in Plateau Valley. The lady Panthers now move into post-season play.
