Meeker

Pastor Swope and family move to Wichita, Kan.

MEEKER I Faith Baptist Church will celebrate their 29th anniversary Sunday, Feb. 27. This is an exciting time but also a sad time. This Sunday will also be Pastor Jon Swope and his family’s last Sunday as pastor of Faith Baptist Church.
Pastor Swope and his family will be moving to Wichita, Kans., to pastor the Bethel Baptist Church. His father, Reverend Ted Swope, will resign March 20 after 41 years as pastor there.
Jon and Sarah Swope, along with their 3-month-old baby girl Hannah, moved to Meeker in September 2003, to become the pastor of Faith Baptist Church. God has given them three other children since they have been in Meeker: Leah, Anna and Joseph.
It is a difficult thing for the Swopes to say good-bye to the good people of Meeker and the dear church family whom they have loved and made many wonderful memories with during the past seven years. The Swopes are very grateful to the Lord for placing them here to pastor at FBC in Meeker.
Everyone is invited to attend the services at Faith Baptist Church this Sunday, Feb. 27, at 10 and 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., to say good-bye to Pastor Swope and his family.
