RANGELY — The RMS volleyball teams ended their regular season on Saturday playing at home against the Meeker Cowboys.
In the eighth-grade gym, RMS started out strong, winning game one of the A-match, 25-22.
The Panthers fought hard in game two but lost 19-25. Game three was close throughout the entire match. The score was tied at 11, but Meeker pulled ahead and won the game, 15-13.
Kelsey Prosser and Heather Turner did a great job in the match, stepping up to cover setting duties when our setter came out with a jammed finger.
In the B-match, Brittany Babineaux and Heather Turner shared setting duties while Kelsey Prosser filled in the middle hitter position. The Panthers had many unforced errors in game one, losing 21-25.
“After fighting such a battle in the A-match, the girls were having a difficult time putting the loss behind them and getting fired up for their next match,” coach Valerie Medina said.
They came out much more fired up in game two, winning 25-10. Game three was another hard fought battle.
The girls found themselves in quite the hole down 8-14 before storming back to win the match 17-15.
The seventh-grade girls ended their regular season on Saturday playing extremely well against the Meeker Cowboys. Unfortunately, they did not come out with a victory.
The A-match was very close but the Panthers lost in two games 25-18 and 25-20.
