Rangely, Meeker honor troops who died in service to America

On Monday morning, the public joined men and women from the Rangely Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at Hefley Park in downtown Rangely for the laying of a wreath at the Rangely Veterans Memorial. Other items such as flowers and an American flag were also laid at the foot of the statue. Excellent weather brought out a solid crowd to remember those who gave their lives in service to America.

Meeker holds Memorial Day events Monday

Rangely VFW to revive Memorial Day tradition

RANGELY I A Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post characterized by new membership and increased involvement has spurred the return of a Memorial Day tradition.

Memorial Day: Meeker

MEEKER | The VFW, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Posts will be conducting a Memorial Day observance at the Circle Park bridge in Meeker Town Park on Monday at 9:30 a.m. or 0930 for the old military types. Any veterans who would like to participate should arrive at 0900 at the bridge.

Memorial Day tribute…

The headstone of Meeker’s George G. Tagart at Highland Cemetery is decorated with an American flag to designate him as one of the many veterans buried in the local cemetry. The Meeker VFW performed ceremonies on the bridge over the White River in Meeker Town Park and then proceeded to hold another remembrance at Highland Cemetery.



Members of the Color Guard from Meeker VFW Post 5843 presented a Memorial Day salute to the soldiers who lost their lives in service to America.
