The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center received 450 phone calls last week including 21 911 calls, 63 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 124 outgoing calls. A total of 153 calls for service were created, 75 for the Sheriff’s Office, 57 for MPD and two assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted eight traffic stops, issued two citations and MPD had nine stops and issued one citation. Highway 13 had three traffic stops and issued one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 16 agency assists, two 911 hang ups, 15 animal calls, two civil papers served, three civil issues, three disturbances, two motorist assists, two suspicious incidents, five VIN inspections, two warrant arrests and one each: alarm, business check, harassment, K-9 deployment, narcotics, property, traffic arrest, traffic complaint.
MPD calls included four agency assists, one 911 hangup, 13 animal calls, seven business checks, three citizen assists, four disturbances, four motorist assists, two property, five suspicious incidents and one each: alarm, gas skip, traffic arrest and VIN inspection.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two ambulance requests, two controlled burns, one each disturbance, fire alarm and two medical transports to another facility.
There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in four, three by the Sheriff’s Office, one by MPD. Three inmates were released. There were seven transports to or from another facility and there are currently 16 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests. Two vehicle crashes were reported in the county both involving deer.
