Rangely Panthers football team begins its season with 30-26 win
RANGELY I The Del Norte Tigers, more than six hours from the south-central part of the state for their first game in the 8-man division, played the hometown Rangely Panthers and were sent on a long trip home after a 30-26 defeat.

Sheriff stabbed, has surgery; Meeker man faces felonies
RBC I Trying to prevent a family situation from blowing up, Rio Blanco County Sheriff Si Woodruff suffered a stab wound to the abdomen on Thursday afternoon and had to be airlifted to Grand Junction, where he underwent surgery to repair the wound.
