– Ed Sanderson is about to open up a tannery in Meeker, carpenter McKenzie being at work for some time past in making the vats and other necessary fixtures. All kinds of hides will be tanned.

– Locally the public skis at Nine Mile where the county provides a tractor for the winter months to operate the ski lift, with gas contributed by interested individuals.

– At issue is the heating system at the high school, which isn’t functioning and is believed to be “cratering.” While there have been problems with steam within the building for some time, it was hoped that a venting system installed last year would remedy the problem.
– The Meeker Cowgirls volleyball team will leave Thursday for the AAA State Volleyball Tourney.

– Ski buffs in the Rangely area won’t have to travel to other parts to participate in their favorite sport this winter. Construction began this week of a slope almost half a mile long at the east end of the city. Beginning at the northeast corner of the Rangely College campus, it traverses land belonging to School Ditrict Re-4, St. Timothy’s Church and S.W. McLaughlin. The project is a joint effort of the Rangely Jaycees and several members of the college staff.

– On July 6, 1993, The Rocky Mountain News printed the obituary of the town of Dinosaur. At the time I thought it was a bit premature, but now I’m not so sure.
