There are not enough words, thoughts or phrases To capture your kindness Describe the depths of your character Reveal the strength of your will Encompass the profoundness of your love; the size of your heart. Athlete ... rancher ... cattleman ... hunter ... businessman ... director ... community servant ... leader ... There are not enough hours in a lifetime To illustrate the breadth of your love Paint a picture revealing your talents Write a song depicting your passions Saddle a horse and gather up your dreams. Gone too soon ... loved by many ... mourned by more ... blue eyes twinkling with mischief ... a man of your word ... There are not enough stars in the sky To account for the lives you touched, Embody the light you brought others, Shine down on those who loved you, Reflect on the hearts grieving your passing. Darryl Stout, shown here with his wife, Susan, at Niagara Falls, was the voice of Meeker Cowboy home football games for 15 seasons. Stout, who died in April, will be honored at Friday’s home game as a new sound system at Starbuck Stadium will be dedicated in his memory.
“He loved athletic competitions and supported the Cowboys in all of their endeavors,” said his daughter Trina Smith, who is the agriculture instructor at Meeker High School. “As a proud supporter of the Meeker Cowboy football team, he loved to announce the games regardless of the weather or his personal schedule. On many occasions, games would fall during hunting season, yet dad would leave his hunters and be at the games — oftentimes the out-of-town hunters would choose to come to town with him; rooting for the Cowboys.”
