Epsilon Chi members host council

RANGELY I Five members of the local Epsilon Chi Chapter of ESA: Dorothy Collins, Brenda Hopson, Arleen Huff, Martha Mitchem and Gail Palmer hosted the Colorado West Council on Oct. 2 at the Radino Center.
Four chapters in the area were represented: Beta Tau of Grand Junction, Epsilon Zeta of Delta, Zeta Omicron from Cedaredge, as well as Epsilon Chi. Also present were seven members of the state council from the Eastern Slope. Five Lamplighters, former state presidents, were in attendance: Jean Kump of Rangely, Doris Sutherland of Grand Junction, Kay Westlake of Cedaredge, and Shirley Telinde and Jody Karr from Parker.
Each chapter reported on what they had done for philanthropic projects, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which is an international project for ESA, for Easter Seals, another national project, educational programs and their social activities. Epsilon Chi held a drawing for gift baskets, the contents of which were donated by local merchants. Each guest also received a door prize, also donated by local merchants and by Epsilon Chi members. Thank you to the merchants.
Epsilon Sigma Alpha is an international organization that is altruistic, educational and philanthropic, as well as a social outlet for members and spouses. ESA does its works quietly and does not look for big headlines regarding its works.
Locally, Epsilon Sigma Alpha has made donations to the food bank, Giant Step, Eagle Crest, Rangely District Hospital, Rangely schools and the 9-Health Fair, to name a few of the projects. Epsilon Sigma Alpha will again hold its annual bazaar on Sunday, Nov. 14 at Parkview Elementary School. If you would like a booth, contact Brenda Hopson at 675-8097 for information.
Epsilon Chi has been an ESA chapter in Rangely since the early 1950s. Anyone who is interested in what we are and what we do can contact any member: Dorothy Collins, 675-2367; Brenda Hopson, 675-8097; Loyann Hayes, 675-8765; Arleen Huff, 675-2649; Martha Mitchem, 675-8960; or Gail Palmer, 675-8828.
