Letters To The Editor, Opinion, Rangely

Letter: Middleton family says thanks for support

It is with a heavy but grateful heart that I write this letter. It is often said that the best opportunities are found in large towns or big cities. Granted, this may be true, but (yes, there’s always a but…) nowhere, other than a small town, like Rangely, do the people come together for one another when the times are hard. The heartfelt compassion, caring and abundance of financial support for myself and my family, from our small community, during the loss of my husband, Dennis R. Middleton, Sr., has not gone unrecognized.
The hospital, Dr. Adams, the nursing staff and the ambulance team were great at working together giving my husband wonderful care. My boss, Andrea Teal of Eagle Crest, and my co-workers as well as the residents have been so compassionate and understanding.
My co-workers at Eagle Crest and church family from Assembly of God who pulled together by stepping in and taking care of things that needed taking care of at my house. What can I say? Words don’t seem to cover it. What a blessing!
Dennis’ co-workers, Angie and Bill, who were such a blessing to Dennis more than they’ll ever know. Thank you both. Public Works Department, thank you.
Ken Stiles, manager of the Budget Host/Subway, your thoughtfulness for the motel rooms for our out-of-state family was so appreciated as well as all the food, drinks and everything else. Thank you so much.
The memorial service was great, thanks to Pastor Roger Reed and his wife Karen of the Assembly of God Church. I was really touched when Wayne Nickson, a personal longtime friend of ours, walked up front in his leathers. It brought back special memories when Dennis and I would ride with Wayne and his wife, Annalee. Very dear and precious friends. Family and friends who could not be here for the service were able to see the pictures from the memorial through YouTube.com thanks to Wayne Nickson and Agape Pictures. You did a wonderful job Wayne. Thank you.
Our loss is great, and a lot has been a blur, as I can’t remember each and every person or blessing. Though I do know that the generosity of our small community abounds much. Nowhere else, but in Rangely, “the middle of nowhere,” would one find such an outpouring of genuine concern. All the food, flowers, many acts of kindness, the financial support, even an offer of a headstone and burial plot, the cards and phone calls, the teddy bear and movie for my grandson, who was so close to his papa, was received with much heartfelt appreciation. Thanks to all.
Very sincerely,
Family of Dennis R. Middleton
Rangely
