MEEKER I The Meeker 4-H Council was held Feb. 1 at the Extension Office. President Taylor Neilson called the meeting to order. Stephen Walsh led the pledges. Attendees introduced themselves and described their projects.
Macy Collins and Faith Goedert reported on regional officer training. Five members from Rangely also attended. The council decided to work on parliamentary procedure at future council meetings.
Two Meeker members and one Rangely member went to LDC in Denver. Dessa Watson reported on their trip.
The annual Grandparents’ Dinner will be Feb. 13 at 4 p.m, in the Exhibit Hall. The menu will be ham, potatoes, salad and dessert. Shelby, Taylor, Nicole, Anna, Emily and Kelsey will bring desserts. The cooking and decorating crew needs to be there at 2:30 p.m. to prepare.
Macy will write thank you notes to Daniel Lapp and Kim Schriver for their help with the officer training in Rifle.
4-H members will be selling butter braids and cookie dough again. Members will get $4 for each item sold to go toward their credit accounts.
District retreat will be March 18-20 in Glenwood. Youth Fest will be Feb. 11-13. The mini-trip will be June 7-9 in Denver this year.
We talked about community pride projects and decided to clean up and plant flowers at the Walbridge Wing.
The next meeting will be March 1 at 6 p.m.
