Taxidermy assoc. hosting seminars in Craig in May
CRAIG — Colorado Taxidermy Association is hosting all-day seminars, Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at the Holiday Inn in Craig. There will also be happy hours and evening programs both days. Award-winning Colorado big game heads, small game, fish and waterfowl mounts will be displayed at this event. Hunters, sportsmen and the public are invited to attend all or portions of the program. Dinosaur National Monument announces visitor center hours
DINOSAUR — Dinosaur National Monument’s park visitor center in Dinosaur is open on a limited schedule. Hours of operation will be Fridays from 12:30-4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, contact the park at (435) 781-7700.

New Drill Team

MEEKER — It is time again for the Meeker Drill Team to start practice for this summer’s performances. We are looking for riders who love to ride and would like to do something different and fun. Riders of all ages are welcome, as long as they have good control of their horse. If you are a young rider, your parents will need to get you to practice. The drill team provides shirts, saddle pads and leg wraps. Practices are in the indoor arena at Meeker Fairgrounds Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. Please join us. Horse expo set for May 30 in Eagle
RBC — The 2008 Rocky Mountain Horse Expo is slated for May 30-June 1 at the Eagle River Center in Eagle, Colo. There will be clinicians and education seminars as well as shopping, breed, stallion and mare presentations and private treaty horse sales and showcases. There will also be the Extreme Cowboy Race, hosted by Craig Cameron and the Vail/Eagle Championship WRCA Ranch Rodeo. Stallions perform May 9 in Vail
RBC — The “World Famous” Lipizzaner Stallions tour includes many of the traditional movements and exercises presented at the world renowned Spanish Riding School of Vienna. The tour will be making appearances in Vail, Colo., at the Dobson Arena May 9 at 7:30 p.m. and at the Budweiser Center in Loveland, Colo. May 15-16 at 7:30 p.m.

Art trip to canyon held April 26
RANGELY — The Rangely Arts Council is hosting an art field trip to Dry Fork Canyon Saturday, April 26. The scenic canyon provides the inspiration, you supply the art supplies. If you just a want to see the canyon, you can travel along just enjoy the beautiful views. Local artist and sign-maker Chris Earnhart will demonstrate his watercolor techniques and give general art instruction.
Novices and experienced artists alike are welcome! Meet outside of the CNCC Weiss building at 10 a.m. to join the carpool. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen and art supplies of your choice. If you’d like to participate in the watercolor activity, bring the following supplies if possible: medium red, yellow and blue water colors, or a full set if you have it, brushes, container for water, pencil and sharpener, a tablet, board or easel to work on, watercolor paper if you have it — some will be available for purchase. soldiers
RBC — The country’s soldiers need of help. There is a collection box set up at White River Electric to accept donations of men’s underwear (boxers or briefs), T-shirts, flip flops or slippers and single blankets. Cash donations may be made to Jack Mohnhaupt at 1089 Garfield, Meeker, Colo. Cash will be converted to supplies and mailed. If you have any questions, call Mohnhaupt at (970) 878-4454.
