School district hosts meeting to discuss facilities
MEEKER — The Meeker school board is in the process of attempting to get a bond passed this November to build a new elementary school and repair heating/plumbing issues at high school. There will be an interactive work session Monday, April 21 from 7-8:30 p.m. at MHS auditorium to seek input on educational improvements, facility improvements and community needs. Refreshments will be provided.

Foot clinic set for April 22 at Pines
MEEKER — Pioneers Medical Center Home Health will be offering its monthly foot clinic Tuesday, April 22 from 10-11 a.m. at the Pines Apartments, 875 Water St. A registered nurse and a certified nurse assistant will trim toenails, assess circulation, give skin care and check blood pressures. Persons found to have circulatory or foot problems will be referred to a physician. Please call 878-9265 to schedule an appointment.

Adopt-A-Flower Pot project in progress
MEEKER — Anyone can sponsor a pot, even if you do not have a business in Meeker. The chamber can help you find a location and a person to care for your flowers. Contact the Meeker Chamber of Commerce before April 18 to reserve your flower pot. Chamber staff will deliver the pot to your storefront or desired location around Memorial Day, weather permitting. Correction
RANGELY — In the March 13 issue of the newspaper, it was reported that CNCC President John Boyd gave a strong endorsement message on behalf of Rep. Al White at the local Republican assembly. Peggy Rector gave that endorsement.

Rabies clinic set for Saturday
RANGELY — Rangely Rabies Clinic offers reduced rates April 19 from 1-3 p.m. behind the sheriff’s department. Also at the clinic will be a bake sale, mobile grooming and various vendors.

Blood Drive at Meeker High School April 17
MEEKER — St. Mary’s Regional Blood Center will have the Bloodmobile at Meeker High School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept donations. A photo ID is required.

EnCana to scale back
RBC — Encana Oil and Gas, one of the biggest producers in the region, plans to reduce its operations by about 20 percent in the Piceance Basin this year, citing concerns about new rules proposed by the state that are too strict and make it harder to do business. According to the Aspen Daily News, EnCana will shift focus to operations in Wyoming and Texas.
