A combined effort, spearheaded by White River Electric Association, with Pioneers Medical Center and the Meeker Volunteer Fire and Rescue has allowed for the purchase of 4 AED (automated external defibrillator) units for the Meeker School District. There will be one unit located in each of the school buildings and one in the administrative building. “We recognized that there may be a need for these units in the schools after one of our own safety trainings,” said Dale Dunbar of WREA. “After visiting with superintendent Goettel and confirming the need, we contacted the PMC and the Fire and Rescue (Department) who immediately responded positively to the project. We appreciate the assistance from these entities and our own WREA board of directors who made this a possibility.” Pictured are Meeker superintendent Susan Goettel, Margie Joy of Pioneers Medical Center, Dale Dunbar and Joe Foster of White River Electric Association and Cathy Kiser of the school district.
