“Home of” 411
MEEKER — Meeker native Doris Riemann is this week’s “home of” honoree. Doris is a third-generation Meekerite. Her parents were George and Maurine Janes. Ray and Mae Janes were her grandparents.
Doris’ high school class was the second class to graduate from the new Meeker High School.
She is a licensed insurance sales representative for the Kevin Amack State Farm Insurance Agency in Meeker. Doris has worked for the Kevin Amack Agency seven years. Doris has been licensed since 1981.
Doris has five children, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her hobbies include playing the piano, crocheting and reading novels.
When asked what she likes most about Meeker, Doris replied, “It’s a wonderful place. Everybody is always willing to help out when someone is in need.”

Pest control district meets March 27
RANGELY — Lower White River Pest Control District will meet at the Water Conservancy Building, 2252 E. Main, Rangely, Thursday, March 27, 8 p.m.

Rangely LDS wards to host sock hop
RANGELY — The combined wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will hold a ‘50s style sock hop and malt shop, Friday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the church hall at 123 Eagle Crest Dr. All members of the community are invited to attend and period attire will be appropriate. Please remember that tobacco products or alcohol are not allowed.

Golf association meets April 7
MEEKER — Rio Blanco Golf Association’s regular meeting will be Monday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at the Meeker Golf Course.

Sanderson speaks at energy meeting
RBC — Northwest Colorado Energy Producers Association dinner meeting will be Thursday, March 27 at The Ore House, 1465 Pine Grove Rd. in Steamboat Springs. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. The guest speaker, Stuart Sanderson, president of the Colorado Mining Association will begin at 8 p.m. At 8:45 p.m., drawings will be held for door prizes which could include a $100 gift card to Sportsman’s Warehouse.
