Meeker Rec News: Nov. 13, 2008

n A Holiday Swim Meet will be held Nov. 17-20 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Entrants must be a “Sea Turtle Big Dog,” “Swordfish‚” or “Flying Fish‚” to participate. The maximum age is 14. Cost is $15.
n Western Line Dance for ages 18 and older will be Monday-Thursday, Nov. 17-20 from 6:45-7:45 p.m. Cost is $10. Bring non-street shoes and plan on having a lot of fun.
n Dance for ages 5-10 will be held on Thursdays, Nov. 13-Dec. 18, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Cost is $15. Participation in this class qualifies students to participate in future academies.
n Morning Star Tone, a new water and land fitness class, began Nov. 3. The class is held from 5:30-6:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is a drop-in class; new participants are welcome. Layne Pearce is the instructor.
n Have-a-Ball, Pilates and Body Pump fitness classes will continue through the week of Dec. 19. There are options for mid-day or evening and Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday classes. These are drop-in classes.
n The Aqua Fitness classes H2O Blast and Senior Splash continue through the week of Dec. 18. They are drop-in classes. New participants are always welcome.
n Tiny Tumblers for ages 2-3 is in progress. Children learn basic tumbling moves and more. A parent or caregiver must attend and participate in the class. Cost is $10.
n Kids in Motion for ages 6-8 is in progress. Children learn basic gymnastic moves and more. Cost is $15.
n Call, click or come-in for details on current programs. The December 2008-March 2009 brochure will be in mailboxes the week of Nov. 20. Registration for new programs will begin Nov. 20.
