RBC | The Colorado Department of Transportation has announced the promotion of Grand Junction resident engineer Jason Smith to West Program Engineer in Region 3, which includes part of Rio Blanco County.
In his new position, Smith will oversee CDOT projects in the West Engineering Program Area, which includes the counties of Delta, Grand, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Jackson, Mesa, Moffat and parts of Montrose, Rio Blanco and Routt counties.
Smith began his CDOT career in 2000 in Region 3 as a project engineer for the Craig Engineering Residency, where he oversaw projects on SH 131 and US 40 in and around Steamboat Springs. He also worked as lead design engineer while in the Craig residency.
